To use HRI's interactive slide puzzles and games, you need Netscape Navigator version 4.05 or higher or Internet Explorer version 4 or higher. Make sure that your browser PREFERENCES (under Advanced Options) are set to ENABLE JAVASCRIPT.

Colors, fonts, and page layout varies significantly across platforms and browsers. (For instance, Microsoft's Explorer often disregards or mishandles industry standard code and script.) For optimal appearance and performance, this site is best viewed with a Netscape browser (Version 4.0 or higher) on an Apple Macintosh computer, with browser options set to allow page fonts and colors, and Java-enabled.

To view and print PDF (Portable Document Format) files, Adobe's Acrobat Reader is required. You may DOWNLOAD ACROBAT READER free of charge.

The Institute's PDF files are compatable with both INTERNATIONAL A4 and U.S. LEGAL paper sizes.

For best results printing HRI's free posters, use a color ink jet printer with 65-pound white card stock (either A4 or Legal paper size).

If you have trouble printing pages that contain white text and/or background colors, make the following adjustments BEFORE PRINTING : Set your browser options to override the web page font color; SET FONT to BLACK and set PAGE BACKGROUND to WHITE. Reload the page, then print.

This site is designed to be accessible for a wide audience. If your browser did not come configured with the necesssary software, the only plug-ins needed may be downloaded free of charge :

To conduct efficient and accurate searches :
    - use lower case except when capitals are needed (search terms are case sensitive)
    - use a comma to separate phrases (e.g., left-handed writing, teach)
    - use Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) between terms if needed
    - try synonyms or variations of words (e.g., CDROM, CD-ROM)
