People are people, no matter where they live.

Anywhere you travel in the world you will find a minority of left-handers living in a society constructed by and for the right-handed majority. You'll also find more misunderstanding about handedness than accurate information. Problems that left-handers face living in a right-biased world are not just a matter of interest to left-handers -- it's a situation that affects us all. Figuring out the best ways for left-, mixed- and right-handers to live and work together strengthens our communities by making society more efficient, safe, fair, and productive for everyone.

Many common problems associated with handedness can be resolved globally though teacher training, policy implementation, applied research, and by engaging scientists and lay people worldwide. Here's what the Institute is doing around the world. Learn how you can make a difference in your community.

As funding allows, the Institute will continue to establish bureaus internationally, in collaboration with colleages in other countries. International offices greatly enhance the Institute's ability to conduct research, train graduate students, and provide public education internationally.
